Br. Allan Jopson De Castro was born on May 2, 1977, in Dadiangas, General Santos City, Philippines. He completed his primary education at Balite Elementary School in 1990 and secondary education at Marist Brothers School Notre Dame of Dadiangas College High School Department Lagao Campus in 1994. After high school, he joined the Marist pre-novitiate as an aspirant, entered the Novitiate in 1997, and professed his first vows in 1999. He completed his scholasticate at the Marist Asia Pacific Center (MAPAC) from 1999 to 2002 and took his perpetual vows in 2006. As a professed Marist Brother, Br. Allan served in various ministries: Religious Education teacher at Notre Dame of Cotabato in 2002, house parent and street children educator at Marcellin Homes Incorporated in 2003, and from 2003 to 2005 he taught at the Muslim mission school Notre Dame of Jolo High School Kasulutan. From 2005 to 2009, he was Religion teacher and Prefect of Discipline at Marist School Marikina. From 2009 to 2016, he was part of the Marist Intercultural and Mixed Community at Notre Dame de l’Hermitage, France. He returned to the Philippines in 2016, serving as Campus Ministry Director at Notre Dame of Marbel University (2016-2019), School Director at Notre Dame of Cotabato (2019-2020), and President of Marist School Marikina (2020-2022). He assumed his first term as Provincial of East Asia in 2022 and was confirmed for a second three-year term in November 2024.
