Br. Deivis Alexandre Fischer was born in Barros Cassal, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, on September 15, 1983. He is the son of Lauri and Elieda Cerutti Fischer, and brother to Diego and Daniela. He holds a degree in Philosophy, a specialization in Sociology, and a Master’s degree in Education. He also completed studies in Theology at the Institute of Theology and Pastoral in Passo Fundo, Rio Grande do Sul. He joined the Marist formation house in 2000 at the Juniorate. He completed the Postulancy in 2001, the Novitiate in 2002–2003, and Scholasticate in 2004. As a Marist Brother, he has served in School and Youth Ministry, coordinated provincial pastoral work, and was Vice-Provincial. He also served as Postulancy Formator and currently is the Provincial of the Marist Province of Brasil Sul-Amazônia.
