Br. Lúcio Gomes Dantas is originally from Currais Novos, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. He joined the Marist Institute in 1998 and made his first profession in 2000. He has extensive experience in both basic and higher education, having served as a teacher, educational coordinator, vice principal, and general director in Marist schools. He has participated in various commissions, committees, and working groups related to the Marist Province of Brasil Centro-Norte, UMBRASIL, and the South America Region. He holds a PhD in Education from the University of Brasília (UnB) and serves as a professor in the graduate education program at the Catholic University of Brasília, where he is also involved in the internationalization team. Additionally, he is a research associate at the UNESCO Chair on Youth, Education, and Society. He currently serves on the boards of Marista Brasil and the PMBCN, and is the Executive Director of the province. He is also Vice President of UBEE and UNBEC. His research focuses on life histories in teacher formation, poverty, ethics, and spirituality, exploring how these themes are addressed in educational processes.
