Br. Pere was born in Barcelona in 1967, the second of three sons of Josep Maria and Carmen. He studied in two Marist schools, in Badalona and Barcelona. After some years as an animator of pastoral groups, he entered the novitiate in Les Avellanes (Lleida) where he made his first profession in 1988. He made his post novitiate in Alcalá de Henares and Barcelona. He started an insertion community in Santa Coloma de Gramenet with two other brothers, where he combined social and parish work with that of the Marist College of Badalona. He studied pharmacy, religious sciences and psychology. After his perpetual profession in 1994, he followed the formation course for formators from 1996 to 1998 in Valpré (France), before dedicating himself to vocation ministry and the formation of postulants. From 2001 to 2009 he was novice master at the interprovincial novitiate in Seville and later spent a year in the community and college of Lleida. He served in various capacities in the animation of the Province of L’Hermitage: Vicar Provincial (2010-2016) and Provincial (2016-2022). From 2022 to 2024, he served as Assistant General Secretary of the Conference of Religious of France (CORREF) and was a member of the Marist community in Paris. Since January 2025, the General Council has appointed Brother Pere Ferré, from the Province of L’Hermitage, as Director of the Brothers Today Secretariat in Rome for a three-year term.
