Br. Isidro Azpeleta Sebastián was born in 1958 in Valbuena de Pisuerga, Palencia (Spain). He began his Marist formation in Valladolid and Peñafiel, making his first religious profession on 3 July 1977. That same year, he arrived in Chile, where he completed his scholasticate in Limache. He later continued his preparation in Rome and in various communities of the Province of Santa María de los Andes. For more than four decades, he has carried out his mission mainly in Chile and Bolivia, with a strong focus on youth and vocation ministry, as well as initial formation. He was one of the founders of the Marist School in Alto Hospicio, in northern Chile. Later, he served as Novice Master at the Cochabamba Novitiate for the South America Region from 2017 to 2021, fostering a spirit of listening and accompaniment for young men in formation. He currently coordinates the teams of the Marist Life Area in the Province of Santa María de los Andes, in the fields of spirituality, vocation ministry, lay Marists, Marist patrimony, and the identity of the brother.
