Br. Luis Enrique Rodríguez Santana was born on July 2, 1965, in Guadalajara, Jalisco, into a large family with 16 siblings. He was baptized eight days after his birth and received Confirmation at age three, as well as the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist at eight years old. He entered the juniorate in Tepatitlán in 1978, continuing his studies in Guadalajara and Querétaro, where he completed postulancy and scholasticate, and completed his novitiate in Morelia. He made his first religious profession in 1986 and his perpetual vows in 1992. Br. Luis Enrique has carried out his mission mainly in education, working in primary and secondary schools in Nuevo Laredo and Aguascalientes. He also served as teacher and principal for nine years at a popular school in Mexicali. Later, he was part of the Vocational Pastoral Commission for eight years, accompanying young brothers in formation. From 2010 to 2019, he lived his mission in Haiti, supporting postulants seeking to follow the Marist vocation. Upon returning to Mexico, he accompanied postulants for three years until, in 2021, he was appointed Provincial Superior of the Province of México Occidental, a role in which he guides and animates the Marist community in his region.
