Br. Luis Felipe González Ruiz, from the Province of México Central, was born in Mexico City. His vocational journey began during primary school at the Marist Escuela Tabasco. He completed his novitiate under the guidance of Br. Basilio Rueda, professing first vows in 1995 and perpetual vows in 2001. Much of his Marist life has been devoted to formation, having served in the Aspirancy and for several years in the Interprovincial Novitiate of Mexico, including seven years as Novice Master. He also had apostolic experiences in peripheral contexts, such as the Miravalles School in Mexico City and in the Indigenous mission in Chiapas. In 2015, he became coordinator of the Provincial Team for Educational Ministry and helped establish the Mission Council, which advises the Provincial Council on mission-related matters. He has participated in international spaces such as the Formators Course in Nairobi, the International Brothers Today Commission, and its Inter-American subcommission. He has served three terms as Provincial Councillor and, since 2021, is Provincial, now in his second term. He is also part of the presidency of the Conference of Religious of Mexico and, since April 2025, serves as Vice President of CLAR (Latin American and Caribbean Conference of Religious).
