Br. Juan Miguel Anaya Torres was born in Seville (Spain) on April 17, 1958, and made his first religious profession in 1977. He holds both Spanish and Italian nationalities. He holds a Doctorate in Canon Law and has completed studies in Mathematics, Religious Sciences, Human Resources, and Financial Management. He has published articles on Canon Law and Marist history in both Spanish and Italian. He has served as educator, tutor, teacher, and principal in several Marist schools in Spain, and was a founding member of the NGO SED. He also worked as professor and director of the Teacher Training University School in Alcalá de Henares. He has served as Provincial Councillor in the Bética and Mediterránea Provinces, Procurator General of the Institute to the Holy See (2002–2011), Canonical Advisor (2011–2025), and Provincial Econome (2019–2025). He has taken part in several General Chapters and promoted the creation of a Human Resources department in his Province.
