Born on November 24, 1965, in Dueñas (Palencia), Spain, Br. Hipólito Pérez Gómez began his Marist journey at the Marist Seminary of Fuentecaliente (Miranda de Ebro), where he also completed his postulancy. He then completed his novitiate at the Interprovincial Novitiate of Venta de Baños, making his first vows in 1984. That same year, he was sent to Guatemala to complete his scholasticate and his theological and professional formation. He belongs to the Marist Province of América Central. He served as a formator at the Juniorate and Postulancy of Carrión de los Condes, where he made his perpetual profession in 1990. Later, he was pastoral coordinator at the Marist School of Alajuela, Costa Rica, and participated in the Formators Course in Lyon, France. He served as novice master in El Salvador, pastoral coordinator at the Champagnat School in El Salvador, and formator and novice master at the Interprovincial Novitiate La Valla in Medellín, Colombia. He served as Provincial of América Central for five years. Afterwards, the General Council appointed him Assistant Director of the Brothers Today Secretariat, from where he continues contributing to the vitality and mission of the Institute.
