Br. Aureliano García was born in Castromorca (Burgos), Spain, on May 22, 1966. He began his Marist journey in 1977 at the Guardamar seminary and started his novitiate in Salamanca in 1983, where he made his first profession in 1985 and completed his scholasticate. He has worked as a primary school teacher and pastoral delegate in various communities, including Alicante, Algemesí, and Valencia, where he also studied clinical psychology. From 1997 to 2000, he served in the Barrio del Cristo community (Valencia), coordinating a project supporting vulnerable youth. He was principal of the Marist school in Cartagena (2000-2001) and served as a missionary in Ghana from 2001 to 2009, where he was community superior in Kumasi and coordinator of development projects, as well as counselor for the West Africa Marist District. From 2010 to 2016, he was provincial counselor and coordinator of the Marist Educational Works Council (COEM) for the Province of Mediterránea. Between 2016 and 2022, he served as vice-provincial and coordinator of the “Brothers Today” teams in Europe. He is currently serving his second term as Provincial and lives in the Marist community of Alicante.
