Brother Máximo Blanco Morán, born in 1962 in Palacios de Fontecha (León, Spain), made his first profession in 1981 and perpetual vows in 1987. He holds a degree in Hispanic Philology from the University of Santiago de Compostela and a diploma in Social Education from the Pontifical University of Salamanca. He has served in child protection, formal education as teacher and principal in several Marist schools, and in initial formation of postulants and novices. He also lived in Honduras for four years as superior, rector, and teacher at the Marist Institute La Inmaculada in Comayagua. He coordinated the Mission Council of the Compostela Province and served as president of Catholic Schools of Castilla y León and of the Educere Foundation. Appointed Provincial in 2021, he is currently serving his second term, which began in 2025.
