Br. John Hazelman was born on October 6, 1968, in Western Samoa. He made his first vows on November 21, 1992, and his perpetual vows on January 20, 2001. He graduated from MAPAC in 1998, holds a Master’s in Pastoral Counselling from La Salle University (Manila), and pursued studies at the Institute of Religious Formation (Chicago) and the Formation Training Institute (Manila). He served as Vice Rector and Acting Rector of MAPAC (2005–2011), later as Director of Mulivai Marist Primary School in Samoa, and since April 2017 has been Rector of MAPAC. In 2019, he was appointed Superior of the Pacific District for a three-year term. Member of the Preparatory Commission of the 23rd General Chapter.
