Brother Sylvain Ramandimbiarisoa, member of the Province of Madagascar, was born in Mahajanga, Madagascar, on February 6, 1962. He made his first vows in 1979 and his perpetual profession in 1986. He worked for several years in primary and secondary schools. After studying religious psychology at the Gregorian University in Rome, in 1994 he completed a postgraduate degree in education in Nairobi. He was an educator at the MIC in Nairobi for 7 years and then served as Provincial from 2002 to 2007. From 2008 to 2012, he was responsible for vocational pastoral ministry. Later, he was director of a school in northern Madagascar and was appointed Provincial again, serving from January 2014 to December 2017. During this period, he was president of the Union of Major Superiors of Madagascar. He was part of the Extended Secretariat of Marist Laity between 2009 and 2016. He was elected General Councilor in 2017.
