Brother Óscar Martín Vicario, member of the Compostela Province and General Councilor of the Institute of the Marist Brothers, was born in Burgos, Spain, on September 10, 1966. He completed his initial formation in Arévalo, Miraflores, and Salamanca, where he made his First Profession in 1986 and Perpetual Profession in 1993. He holds diplomas in teaching, Hispanic philology, and theology. Throughout his journey, he has served as Provincial Delegate for Solidarity and Youth Ministry. In 2005, he took on the coordination of the Animation Team for the 20 educational centers of the Compostela Province and also served as Vice-Provincial. From 2010 to 2016, he was Provincial Superior of Compostela and president of the European Conference of Provincials. From 2016 until the 2017 General Chapter, he was part of the formation team at the Marist Novitiate in Matola, Mozambique.
