Br. Michael Callinan is the Associate Director of the Mission and Life Formation Team at Marist Schools Australia. He recently completed six years as National Campus Ministry Manager at Australian Catholic University. His professional experience has been mainly in leadership and teaching roles within Catholic schools across New South Wales and Queensland. With over twenty years as a classroom teacher and leader in pastoral and faith formation, he has worked in day and boarding schools, both co-educational and boys-only, under diocesan and institute governance. He has led solidarity immersion groups to Pacific countries and pilgrimages to World Youth Day. He also maintains close relationships with Indigenous young people and elders in Australia. His experience includes conducting mission review processes and promoting the spiritual wellbeing and holistic formation of educators and young people in Catholic ministries. He advocates for a contemporary expression of the Gospel and innovative approaches to structures and people. He has served on the Provincial Council of the former Province of Australia and was a Board Director at Marist180, the largest provider of intensive therapeutic care for vulnerable youth in New South Wales. He is currently a member of the Council of the Association of Saint Marcellin Champagnat in Australia.
